   Our firm exists to serve the professional fundraiser, institution and cause in the work of raising funds for their organization by offering guidance in the processes necessary to raise dollars, develop policy, create fundraising plans, perform fundraising audits, lead board training, provide major gift training, and lead executive searches.

Working with the members of your development staff, along with your Board of Directors/Trustees and your administration, our firm gathers key data that we will use to help guide your institution in its development efforts. We recognize that each agency and situation is unique, having its own values, opportunities and set of challenges, and making its own impact in the community.

Robert J. Crandall & Associates possesses a broad range of experience on "both sides of the desk." Our expertise has centered in three areas:

 4Capital campaigns and related activities such as feasibility studies and development audits
 4Major gift training and setting up a program for major gifts
 4Creating from inception the development office – with emphasis on developing a comprehensive plan. The plan includes setting policy, programs, hiring and mentoring the staff, and in less than one year creating a quality fundraising program. In addition, we evaluate and assess ongoing development operations, making recommendations for program improvement.

The Services Provided

Capital Campaign Counsel
We will provide consultation to implementing and/or successfully completing a capital or endowment campaign.

Feasibility Studies
The process used in discovering from your key constituency the likelihood and amount of probable support for your institution. This includes discovering how these donors view your institution and leadership. This study will determine the readiness and likelihood of successfully implementing a campaign.

Major Gift Training
The process used in seeking gifts of size for your institution. This process is well tested and included the "how to" of researching, rating groups, starting a program, making the ASK, involving volunteers, and much more.

Planned Giving
We can lead your organization in taking steps you can use to create a planned giving program that will help develop your endowment and build your future. There are simple steps that any organization can carry out. If you would like to take your planned giving to the next level and develop a full scale program we can assist you as well.

Executive Searches
We can lead your Board and Staff in their quest for qualified development and chief operating officer searches. We will find talented, capable, and dedicated professionals who will lead your organization into the future.

Fundraising for Churches and Denominations
We understand the needs and mission of the church and can assist you with your planning for the future and the building consensus for a capital campaign or endowment building. We have staff with experience and a strong understanding of the needs of churches and denominations.

Development Audits
The conducting of an in-depth study of your organization to determine its strength and areas for improvement, as well as to refocus efforts to better use the organization's current resources and then provide recommendations on how to expand those resources.

Creating a Monthly Giving Program
We have developed a process to work with organizations to create a monthly giving program that will add regular monthly donors to your donor base and also build your needed annual support to fulfill your mission.

Training Your Leadership
Organizations often have potential leaders within that aren't giving the leadership expected from them. We can train your leader(s) to become the leader(s) necessary to lead your institution into the future.

Board and Staff Retreats
We guide your Board and Staff in strategically thinking about issues and your goals. This includes developing written policies, procedures, and job descriptions to enhance your future development results.

Board and Staff Training
We will train your administrators, Board and other volunteers in major gifts, capital campaigns, responsibilities of the Board, conflict resolution, and boardmanship. This includes assessing the effectiveness of your board and helping your board leadership in identifying others in the community who will believe in and support your mission.

Customized Workshops
We will arrange and plan, with input from your Board and Staff members, workshops covering such topics as development, planned giving, and nonprofit management.

Development and Fundraising for the Staff and Volunteer
We train the Staff and volunteers of an organization in various aspects of fundraising and how to work together to accomplish the goals of the institution.

Grant Writing
We have writers with years of experience and success in locating, writing and receiving grants from private foundations. We have available the MetaSoft search software, one of the best available tools for finding grants, and we are doing searches for organizations.
